Tajikistan's processing industry boosts output 26% in H1 2026

DUSHANBE. July 27 (Interfax) - Tajikistan's processing industry boosted output 26% year-on-year to 17.534 billion somoni in H1 2026, according to the presidential Statistics Agency.

The metallurgical industry and finished metal products accounted for the largest share of production at 6.334 billion somoni.

Food, beverage, and tobacco production totaled nearly 5.877 billion somoni to maintain its status as one of the largest sectors in Tajikistan's processing industry.

The output of other non-metallic mineral reached 2.459 billion somoni; textiles and clothing to 1.216 billion somoni; wood and paper products, and printing products to 433 million somoni; chemical products to 367.6 million somoni; and petroleum products to 19.2 million somoni.

The official exchange rate as on July 27, 2026, is 9.26 somoni/$1.
