Kyrgyz president, Chinese FM discuss trade, economic cooperation
BISHKEK. July 24 (Interfax) - Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov has received Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi to discuss the development of trade and economic cooperation, the implementation of infrastructure projects, transport and logistics connectivity, and collaboration in agriculture and cultural and humanitarian affairs, the Kyrgyz presidential press service said on Friday.
Japarov said that Kyrgyzstan views China as an important partner and consistently calls for boosting mutually beneficial cooperation, while the implementation of joint projects in transport, infrastructure, trade and investment is essential for sustainable economic development.
Kyrgyzstan is consistently creating favorable conditions for investors, ensuring the required investment climate, the president said. At the same time, all foreign companies, including those with Chinese participation, must strictly comply with the law, respect the traditions and culture of the Kyrgyz people, and conduct their activities in line with the principles of law and transparency, he added.
Following the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their mutual interest in further deepening Kyrgyz-Chinese comprehensive strategic partnership, expanding political dialogue, and implementing joint projects, the press service said.
