Kazakhstan temporarily lowers oil production due to suspension of loading at CPC terminal - Energy Ministry

ASTANA. July 23 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan has been forced to lower oil production due to the suspension of loading at the Caspian Pipeline Consortium's Marine Terminal, the Kazakh Energy Ministry's press service said.

"Loading at the CPC Marine Terminal has been temporarily suspended to protect ships, crews and the Black Sea environment," it said.

All of the CPC's facilities are in good working order, operating normally, and are ready to resume oil transshipment as soon as the situation get back to normal, the ministry said.

"Due to restrictions on oil intake into the pipeline system and to prevent oil producers from overstocking tank farms, a controlled adjustment to daily production levels has been carried out, resulting in a temporary reduction in oil production volumes," the ministry said, adding that this was a technical measure to keep production running smoothly.
