Damage in Moshkovich case exceeds 86.1 bln rubles - indictment
MOSCOW. July 15 (Interfax) - The total damage from the actions by Rusagro founder Vadim Moshkovich and the holding's former director Maxim Basov is estimated at more than 86.1 billion rubles.
"Moshkovich and Basov, abusing their office, in collaboration with unidentified individuals, acting as part of an organized group, by their actions inflicted damage worth in total 86,166,342 rubles," according to the indictment read by the prosecutor at a hearing in Moscow's Zamoskvoretsky District Court on Wednesday.
The state prosecutors believe the defendants fraudulently acquired rights over 1,020 ordinary shares in the Cypriot company Quartlink Holding Limited, whose only shareholder is businessman Vladislav Burov. The market value of the assets is 50,085,337,000 rubles.
Besides, Moshkovich and Basov are charged in the deliberate bankruptcy of 20 companies, including the limited liability company Solnechnye Produkty, the limited liability company Volzhsky terminal, the joint stock company Agrotrans, the limited liability company Trading House Solnechnye Produkty, the joint stock company Elevatorholding, the joint stock company Agroirma Volga, and the joint stock company Trading House Yantarny. The prosecutors believe the defendants inflicted damage in an amount of 7,406,584,212 rubles by evading the obligation to pay interest on loans and other mandatory payments, including to the Russian budget.
Besides, Moshkovich and Basov inflicted damage in an amount of 28,671,815,625 rubles as a result of a transaction with property acquired as a result of the commission of the crime.
The most recent charge involves a bribe in an amount of 2.6 million rubles to the former deputy governor of the Tambov region for general protection and leniencies in receiving subsidies.
