Azerbaijan, OPEC discuss deepening cooperation within OPEC+ framework

BAKU. July 15 (Interfax) - Azerbaijan and OPEC are happy with cooperation within the OPEC+ framework and plan to expand it, the country's Energy Ministry said.

"Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov met with OPEC Secretary General Haitham Al Ghais within the framework of the first meeting of the Technical Committee on the Charter of Cooperation (CoC) held in Baku on Wednesday. During the meeting, the outcomes of cooperation within the OPEC+ framework were highly appreciated, and the Charter of Cooperation was underscored as an important platform for further expanding this successful partnership," the ministry said in a statement.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on the future prospects of OPEC+ cooperation, the expansion of partnership among participating countries into new areas, and the more effective realization of the potential of the Charter of Cooperation.

Al Gais said the Inaugural Technical Committee Meeting held in Baku marked an important milestone in further deepening multilateral cooperation under the Charter of Cooperation.
