Russia's trade balance rises 9.4% to $59.1 bln in 5M 2026 - Federal Customs Service
MOSCOW. July 13 (Interfax) - Russia's trade balance rose 9.4% year-on-year to $59.1 billion in January-May 2026 from $54 billion in January-May 2025, according to the Federal Customs Service's published foreign trade statistics.
The service said that exported goods increased 8.5% year-on-year to $177.4 billion in 5M 2026 from $163.5 billion in 5M 2025, and imports to Russia rose 8.1% year-on-year to $118.3 billion from $109.5 billion, respectively.
Russia boosted foreign trade turnover 8.3% year-on-year to $295.7 billion in January-May 2026 from $273 billion in January-May 2025.
Exports of goods from Russia to Europe in January-May 2026 amounted to $23 billion (-8.4%), to Asia they stood at $141.5 billion (+14.5%), to Africa they totaled $8.3 billion (-10%) and to the Americas they were $4.5 billion (-17%).
Imports to Russia from Europe in January-May 2026 amounted to $30.3 billion (+8%), from Asia they were $79.6 billion (+8.8%), from Africa they stood at $1.9 billion (-7.1%) and from the Americas they were $6.5 billion (+4.3%).
Russia's positive foreign trade balance amounted to $139.3 billion in 2025, down 8.2% from the previous year. Exports of goods from Russia decreased 3.7% in 2025 to $418.3 billion, and imports fell 1.4% to $279 billion.
