Inflation in Russia accelerates to 0.87% in June, annual inflation to 6.02%

MOSCOW. July 10 (Interfax) - Inflation in Russia accelerated to 0.87% in June 2026 after 0.17% in May, 0.14% in April, 0.60% in March, 0.73% in February and 1.62% in January, Rosstat said on Friday.

Prices in Russia increased 4.19% in January-June 2026, which is higher than the same figure for 2025 when prices increased 3.77% in the first half of that year.

The growth in consumer prices in June 2026 turned out to be somewhat higher than analysts' expectations. The consensus forecast of economists surveyed by Interfax was 0.85% for the month.

According to Rosstat, annual inflation accelerated to 6.02% in June 2026 (analysts expected 5.99%) from 5.31% at the end of May. At the end of April, annual inflation was 5.58%, at the end of March it was 5.86%, at the end of February it was 5.91% and at the end of January it was 6.00%.

The core consumer price index, which excludes changes in prices for certain goods subject to administrative and seasonal factors, was 100.48% in June 2026, and 105.02% on an annual basis.
