Tajikistan boosts industrial production 14% in H1 2026

DUSHANBE. July 10 (Interfax) - Industrial production in Tajikistan reached 33.8 billion somoni in H1 2026, which in comparable prices is 14.1% more compared to the figure for the same period last year, the Tajik Industry and New Technologies Ministry said.

According to the ministry, the largest portion of Tajikistan's industrial output - 60.8% - came from the Sughd region, while the share of the Khatlon region amounted to 18.5%, Dushanbe accounted for 11.8%, the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAR) made up 8.5%, and the districts of republican subordination accounted for 0.4%.

Investments in Tajikistan's industry amounted to around 4.9 billion somoni in H1, up 15%. The bulk of the funds - 4.47 billion somoni - was directed to the production and distribution of electricity, gas and steam. A total of 441.8 million somoni were invested in manufacturing, and 4.8 million somoni were invested in the extractive industry.

As of July 1, 4,000 industrial enterprises are registered in Tajikistan, employing more than 89,000 people.

Industrial production in Tajikistan grew 22.1% in 2025.
