Uzbekistan, Belarus to launch seven joint ventures at $164 mln - deputy PM
TASHKENT. July 10 (Interfax) - Uzbekistan and Belarus have agreed to implement seven new joint projects worth $164 million, Uzbek Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev posted on social media.
Khodjaev said that the parties signed a cooperation development plan for 2026-2030, which envisages increasing mutual trade turnover to $2 billion, developing industrial cooperation, and launching new joint projects. The document was signed on the sidelines of the third Forum of Regions of the two countries.
"Our partnership today is also supported by a growing network of joint ventures. There are currently 360 enterprises, namely 250 companies with Belarusian capital operating in Uzbekistan, and 110 companies with Uzbek capital operating in Belarus. During the forum, 14 interregional documents were signed. A portfolio of investment and trade agreements was also formed, and a schedule of mutual regional visits for 2026-2027 was approved. Another practical outcome of the forum was the launch of seven joint projects worth a total of $164 million," Khodjaev said.
Khodjaev also said that new projects in Uzbekistan would be implemented in the Tashkent, Andijan, and Fergana regions, respectively. These include the creation of a poultry cluster, a textile manufacturing facility, and fruit and vegetable storage and processing facilities.
"The forum demonstrated that interregional cooperation between Uzbekistan and Belarus is reaching a more systemic level. Behind the figures are specific enterprises, projects, regions, and new opportunities for industrial cooperation," Khodjaev said.
