Russian radiopharmaceuticals manufacturers fully cover needs of domestic market

MOSCOW. July 8 (Interfax) - The share of Russian drugs on the domestic radiopharmaceutical market has reached 100%, Deputy Industry and Trade Minister Ekaterina Priyezzheva said at a specialized session of the Innoprom 2026 exhibition.

"The radiopharmaceutical market is showing rapid growth in the share of Russian manufacturers. Thus, the share of Russian drugs reached 98% in packages and 85% in rubles in 2025, and currently we occupy 100% in both physical and value terms. Russian companies therefore fully cover the needs of the domestic market," she said.

The majority of organizations that have a license from the Industry and Trade Ministry for producing radiopharmaceuticals operate on a full production cycle, Priyezzheva said. "We are creating not just a production line, but a full-fledged scientific and technological base for producing the most complex products, which is critically important for the technological independence and sovereignty of our country," she said.

The key producer of radiopharmaceuticals in Russia is Rosatom. Radiopharmaceuticals are produced at production sites in St. Petersburg (JSC Khlopin Radium Institute) and in Obninsk (JSC Karpov Institute of Physical Chemistry). In April, the state corporation announced its intention to launch a plant for producing radiopharmaceuticals in the Kaluga region at the end of this year.
