Russian economic situation developing as Central Bank forecast - advisor

ST. PETERSBURG. July 2 (Interfax) - The Russian economic situation is currently developing as per the Central Bank's forecast, said Kirill Tremasov, advisor to the Central Bank governor.

"Everything to do with the July forecast we'll be discussing very actively during the July round. So far, I wouldn't say that the situation with economic activity is significantly below our forecast, no. The economic situation in terms of GDP growth most probably as we forecast. We will analyze it in more detail in July," he told reporters on the sidelines of the Central Bank's Financial Congress.

The Central Bank in April forecast Russian GDP growth at 0.5%-1.5% in 2026, 1.5%-2.5% in 2027 and 1.5%-2.5% in 2028.

The Central Bank's net rate-setting meeting will take place on July 24. It will be a so-called pivotal meeting, meaning it will be accompanied by the publication of a medium-term macroeconomic forecast.
