Tajikistan's Ministry of Finance and Uzbekistan's Ministry of Economy sign cooperation plan for 2026-2027
DUSHANBE. July 1 (Interfax) - Tajikistan's Ministry of Finance and Uzbekistan's Ministry of Economy have signed a cooperation plan for 2026-2027 following talks between the respective ministers from both countries in Tashkent, the press service of the Tajik Ministry of Finance reported.
The document was signed by Tajik Minister of Finance Faiziddin Qahhorzoda and Uzbek Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Jamshid Kuchkarov.
At the meeting, the parties discussed the current state of bilateral cooperation and future prospects in the field of economics, finance, trade and investments, as well as expanding cooperation between the relevant ministries.
They paid special attention to the development of trading and economic ties between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, noting the steady growth in goods trade and the expansion of the range of goods shipped between the countries. They also expressed interest in further increasing bilateral trade and reinforcing cooperation in industry and investment.
Qahhorzoda gave a presentation on Tajikistan's key macroeconomic indicators and the country's ongoing structural reforms in the management of government funds.
Tajikistan's Ministry of Finance said that the new cooperation plan was aimed at further developing collaboration between the financial authorities of both countries.
