Kazakhstan must create powerful jet fuel supply infrastructure - president
ASTANA. June 30 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan must create a powerful infrastructure for supplying jet fuel, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said.
"Being a leading oil and gas country in the region, we must create a powerful infrastructure for aviation fuel supply. This is a very important, pressing task," Tokayev said at a joint session of the parliament on Tuesday.
It was reported that the country's national welfare fund Samruk-Kazyna and Italy's Maire Tecnimont planned to sign an agreement to build a Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) plant.
Samruk-Kazyna runs Kazakhstan's major strategic assets including oil, gas, transport, logistics and energy companies.
Maire S.p.A. (Maire Tecnimont) is an Italian engineering and technological group actively involved in low-carbon fuel, biofuel and SAF projects.
