TikTok fined 3.5-mln rubles for breaching Russian laws
MOSCOW. June 30 (Interfax) - Moscow's Tagansky District Court has found TikTok in violation of duties of social network owners.
"An administrative fine of 3.5 million rubles has been imposed on TikTok Pte. Ltd.," the court told Interfax on Tuesday.
The service was found in violation of the duty of social network owners to monitor the social network and/or take measures towards limiting access to information.
The court said that content related to LGBT (the LGBT movement branded extremist and banned in Russia) was found on the platform.
Russian courts have repeatedly penalized TikTok for administrative offenses.
TikTok said on March 6, 2022, it introduced a temporary ban on posting new videos and live streams from Russia because of the law on fakes.
