Belarusian, Indonesian companies sign contracts worth $49 mln at business forum in Jakarta
MINSK. June 30 (Interfax) - Contracts worth $49 million were signed at the Belarusian-Indonesian business forum in Jakarta, the chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mikhail Myatlikov said.
"As of now, under previously developed contracts and arrangements with Indonesian partners, contracts worth $49 million have been signed," Myatlikov was quoted as saying by the state agency BelTA.
It was reported that a total of around two dozen various bilateral documents have been signed at the business forum, which is taking place on Tuesday.
"A number of further meetings are planned directly at enterprises and at trade facilities in Jakarta," Myatlikov said. "Therefore, we expect new arrangements that will be implemented in the coming months," he said.
"According to Belarusian statistics, mutual trade between Belarus and Indonesia increased almost twofold in 2025 compared to 2024. This clearly demonstrates that our countries' business communities see mutually beneficial areas of cooperation, and continue to seek and develop new niches in each other's markets," Myatlikov said.
According to BelTA, the Belarusian delegation at the business forum includes representatives of such economic sectors as mechanical engineering, the petrochemical industry, information technology, food production, biotechnology and pharmaceuticals, education, logistics, trade, and the insurance services sector.
