Kazakhstan retains plans for oil output at 98 mln tonnes in 2026 - Energy Minister
ASTANA. June 26 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan's Energy Ministry has retained plans to produce 98 million tonnes of oil in 2026, Kazakh Energy Minister Erlan Akkenzhenov said.
"According to plans, production in Kazakhstan was projected at 101.5 million tonnes. After the incidents at Tengiz and the attacks on the Caspian Pipeline Consortium, our plans were adjusted to 96 million tonnes. Kazakhstan decided to postpone repairs at Kashagan until next year, which gave us an additional 2 million tonnes. Overall, we expect production to be around 98 million tonnes," Akkenzhenov told reporters on the sidelines of parliament in response to oil production plans for the year.
