Russian-Belarusian investments up 12% in 2025, exceed $10 bln - Belarusian Economy Ministry
MINSK. June 25 (Interfax) - Mutual investments between Russia and Belarus exceeded $10 billion in 2025, up 12% compared to the previous year, Belarusian Economy Minister Yuri Chebotar said at the 13th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia.
"Last year, a historical record was set. The countries' mutual investments exceeded $10 billion, with growth of 12%," Chebotar was quoted as saying by the state agency BelTA.
Despite the significant difference in the size of the two countries' economies, mutual investments are roughly equal, he said.
"The main thing in these investments is joint projects. For this purpose, together with our colleagues, we are implementing a three-year plan for mutual cooperation in the investment sphere. This includes the implementation of joint import-substituting projects, the approval of the strategy for scientific and technological development of the Union State until 2035, and the adoption of documents on mutual recognition of credit ratings," he said.
A draft of a new set of measures for 2027-2029 is being worked out, which "will determine new points of growth in cooperation, including the credit-financial and information spheres, as well as interregional communication," Chebotar said.
"At the same time, we will maintain measures to support regional and sectoral projects," he said.
The 13th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia is taking place on June 25-26 in Minsk and the Minsk region. The organizers are the Belarusian Council of the Republic and the Russian Federation Council.
