Gazprom Neft to scale up digital transformation across oil industry via CyberTEK initiative

MOSCOW. June 25 (Interfax) - Gazprom Neft plans to scale up its digital transformation across the oil industry via the CyberTEK initiative, CEO Alexander Dyukov said during the annual general shareholders meeting.

Dyukov noted that Gazprom Neft can "safely be called a digital oil company."

"What makes an oil company digital? It is the widespread use of digital twins, the extensive application of artificial intelligence technologies in all key processes, and the maximum automation of production processes. The use of digital solutions is already taking our technological business processes to a new level of efficiency. For example, the company's launch time for major production projects has been reduced by two to three years compared to the industry average. Over 98% of the company's geological and technical activities are cost-effective. Digital twins and dynamic optimization systems effectively maintain target process parameters for equipment operation at oil refineries, and predictive analytics has significantly increased the reliability of our equipment. AI also helps us accelerate the development of formulations, petroleum products, bitumen, and lubricants," Dyukov said.

"Gazprom Neft's digital transformation experience is expected to be scaled up to the industry level as part of the CyberTEK initiative. CyberTEK is a digital system for strategic decision-making in the oil industry based on up-to-date and objective data. CyberTEK should help the industry make optimal decisions regarding production volumes and the portfolio of fields being developed, as well as ensure the efficient use of tax incentives, which in turn should maximize the benefits for the state and the industry. CyberTEK should facilitate the selection of the optimal set of technologies for developing reserves of various classes and types," Dyukov added.

Dyukov also emphasized that the share of domestic software in Gazprom Neft has reached nearly 100%.
