Roscosmos's Krikalev negotiates with Indian space agency chief in Bangalore - Roscosmos

MOSCOW. June 24 (Interfax) - Roscosmos Deputy CEO for Manned Space Programs Sergei Krikalev has discussed prospects for cooperation with Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) Chairman Dr. V. Narayanan, Roscosmos said on Wednesday.

"[Krikalev] held talks with the head of the Indian Space Research Organization to discuss the current state and prospects of cooperation in various fields of space activities," it said.

Roscosmos had said on June 23 that its delegation would participate in a meeting of the heads of space agencies of the BRICS countries in Bangalore on June 23-24.

"The parties will discuss ongoing cooperation between Russia and India, which holds the 2026 BRICS presidency, in space exploration, as well as promising projects of mutual interest," Roscosmos said.

The Space Research Institute (IKI) under the Russian Academy of Sciences had said on February 6, 2026 that Russian and Indian representatives discussed the deployment of scientific equipment on Russian and Indian spacecraft and prospects for cooperation in space science.

Roscosmos CEO Dmitry Bakanov had said on April 29, 2025 that Russia and India were negotiating the use of Russian technology in developing an Indian national space station.

Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov said on August 20, 2025 that Russia was willing to share with India its expertise in building rocket engines, manned spaceflight, and satellite navigation.
