TASHKENT. June 18 (Interfax) - Petrocas Energy Group is planning to implement around 100 projects in the field of retail fuel trade in Uzbekistan, independent board member Robert Veksler said.
"Petrocas Energy Group plans to implement around 100 projects in the field of retail fuel trade in Uzbekistan and build gas stations across the whole country. Apart from that, areas where efficiency can be raised in the oil refining sector and aviation are also being discussed," Veksler said in an interview with Uzbek publication Dunyo.
He said that he expected the implementation of these projects to create at least 3,000 new jobs.
"At the same time, there are plans to attract around $100 million to U.S. technology companies [in Uzbekistan], bringing total investments up to around $350 million," the statement reads.
Veksler also said that U.S. companies were interested in Uzbekistan due to the "huge opportunities and rates of demographic growth" emerging in the country.
