Trade turnover between Russia, China rises 23% in Jan-May 2026 - Chinese Embassy

YEKATERINBURG. June 18 (Interfax) - Trade turnover between Russia and China rose 23% year-on-year in January-May 2026, Minister Plenipotentiary of the Chinese Embassy in Russia Zhang Wei said.

"This is also a very good figure that overall bilateral trade numbers are up nearly 23% over the first five months of the year compared to the same period last year," Zhang Wei told reporters on Thursday in Yekaterinburg.

Zhang Wei said that cooperation is not limited to energy resources, and is expanding into other areas, namely AI, the digital economy, the agro industry, and others.

As previously reported, trade turnover between the two countries increased 19.7% year-on-year in the first four months of the year.
