Kazakhstan's Aina Resources with participation of investors from Singapore have commissioned gold processing plant with capacity of 100,000 tonnes per year

ASTANA. June 17 (Interfax) - Aina Resources LLC has commissioned a gold recovery plant at the Akbeit deposit in the Astrakhan District of the Akmola Region in northern Kazakhstan, the regional administration press service reported.

"A gold recovery plant has opened in the village of Zhaltyr in the Astrakhan district at the Akbeit deposit. Production was restored by Aina Resources LLC with the participation of investors from Singapore," according to the statement.

The project included a large-scale modernization of the production infrastructure. The mineshaft was completely restored, modern Mitsubishi hoisting equipment was installed, and a new processing plant and a 300,000 cubic meter tailings storage facility were built.

The plant's production capacity is up to 100,000 tonnes of ore per year, and it will reach full capacity within three months. The plant's main products are dore alloy and flotation concentrate.

The project has created approximately 200 jobs. An additional 150-200 jobs are planned for the future.

The Akbeit gold-quartz ore deposit was discovered in 1933. In 1993, its main 640-meter shaft was mothballed and flooded, after which mining at the site was primarily carried out using artisanal methods. Akbeit's ores are highly valuable, with an average gold grade estimated at 32.3 g/t.
