Russia bans 103 Canadian citizens from entry - Foreign Ministry
MOSCOW. June 16 (Interfax) - A total of 103 Canadian citizens, including parliamentarians, were banned from entering Russia, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
"As a response to the indiscriminate anti-Russian sanctions of Mark Carney's government, which recklessly picked up the anti-Russian policy of Justin Trudeau's regime preceding it and is continuing moral, financial and military-technical support to the neo-Nazi authorities in Kiev, the entry to the Russian Federation is permanently banned for 103 Canadian citizens, whose activities, primarily at Canada's parliament, are aimed at demonizing our country's constitutional order and foreign policy and are devoted to the task of unlawfully seizing Russia's sovereign state assets," the ministry said in a statement published on its website on Tuesday.
"Russia traditionally treats the people of Canada with respect, but does not accept the hostile policy pursued by the current political elites, which embarked on the path of denying Russia's rights and interests and, therefore, destroyed bilateral relations with our country groundlessly, methodically, and down to rock bottom," the statement said.
