Rosgeo will search for oil and gas in Bering Sea's Anadyr Basin in 2026-2028
MOSCOW. June 16 (Interfax) - Rosgeo, the Russian sate geology holding, will conduct geophysical surveys in the Anadyr Basin of the Bering Sea for the All-Russian Geological Oil R&AD Institute to clarify the region's geological structure and oil and gas potential.
An environmental impact study says the survey will be conducted in the northwestern Bering Sea near Cape Navarin within the shelf zone at depths of more than 20 meters.
The purpose of the exercise is to clarify the geological structure of sedimentary basins using new integrated geological and geophysical methods to identify promising oil and gas complexes and zones of potential oil and gas accumulation.
The holding plans 2D seismic surveys, surface gravimetry and differential hydromagnetic surveying. Marine geophysical surveys are planned for 2026-2028.
