Agricultural output in Belarus up 4.3% in 5M

MINSK. June 16 (Interfax) - Output by farms of all categories in Belarus grew 4.3% year-on-year at constant prices to 10.5 billion Belarusian rubles in January-May 2026, national statistical committee Belstat said.

Agricultural organizations increased output 4.6% YoY to 10.3 billion Belarusian rubles in 5M 2026.

Belarus is increasing the rate of growth in agricultural production, from 2.9% in January-April and 2.6% in the first quarter.

Output of cattle and poultry in live weight at farms of all categories totaled 769,800 tonnes, up 5.3%. Milk production increased 2.7% to 3.82 million tonnes, while egg production remained at 1.44 billion.

Agricultural organizations produced 98% of the cattle and poultry in live weight, 98% of the milk and over 90% of the eggs.

Agricultural organizations had 3.8 million head of cattle at June 1, 2026, versus 3.9 million head at May 1. This included 1.3 million cows. They also had 2 million pigs and 52.7 million birds.

Agricultural output in Belarus rose 0.2% in 2025, 3.4% in 2024, 1% in 2023 and 3.6% in 2022.
