EU sanctions Belarusian vacuum equipment producer Izovak

MINSK. June 15 (Interfax) - The European Union has sanctioned Izovak LLC, a Belarusian producer of vacuum equipment and ion beam devices, as part of its 21st sanctions package against Russia, according to the Official Journal of the EU.

"The company was included in the Registry of the Military-Industrial Complex of Russia [...] Izovac, together with its affiliated companies under the same group name, has supplied Russian defence contractors that have received about $200 million worth of goods from Izovac [...] LLC Izovac is therefore materially supporting Russia's military and industrial complex, including by being involved in the development, production or supply of military technology and equipment," the "Reasons" section of the updated sanctions list reads.

Izovak LLC has been active since 1993 and specializes in vacuum technologies and equipment used to produce electronics. The company is a resident of the Belarusian High Technologies Park (HTP). The HTP website says that the company's technology and equipment is used in the production chain of Apple Inc. , Samsung, LG, Sharp and Huawei. The company supplies its products to countries in North America, the EU, Southeast Asia, the Middle East and the CIS.
