EU imposes sanctions on shipping structures of Lukoil, Gazprom Neft
MOSCOW. June 15 (Interfax) - The European Union has imposed sanctions on the shipping structures of Lukoil and Gazprom Neft .
According to a resolution of the EU Council on imposing additional sanctions against Russia, Gazpromneft Shipping and Lukoil Western Siberia have been included in the list.
As noted in the document, Gazpromneft Shipping (St. Petersburg) is a Russian shipping company specializing in technical support, and is also the manager of the vessels Omsk, Olanga and Murmansk. Lukoil Western Siberia, listed in the sanctions list, is also defined as a shipping company based in St. Petersburg and is the commercial operator of the vessels Oven, Neva Lux and Nimbus.
In the notes regarding both companies, the EU said that the vessels do not have proper liability insurance and carry out ship-to-ship transfers, and also use automatic identification systems when transporting oil and petroleum products exported from Russia, practicing irregular and high-risk transportation.
Lukoil Western Siberia, a subsidiary of Lukoil, is registered in Kogalym (Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District) and is engaged in oil and gas production. The company Lukoil Bunker, which was liquidated in 2019, was once located at the address indicated in the EU list.
