USDA keeps forecast for Russian wheat exports in 2026/27 season at 47 mln tonnes
MOSCOW. June 15 (Interfax) - The U.S. Department of Agriculture left its forecast for Russian wheat exports in the 2026/2027 farming season (July-June) at the May level of 47 million tonnes in its June report, which was published last Thursday.
The forecast for nearest rival the European Union also remained unchanged at 31 million tonnes.
However, the USDA raised its forecast for wheat production in Russia by 2 million tonnes to 88 million tonnes. The additional amount is expected to go to the domestic market.
The forecasts for Russia's feed grain and corn exports and harvests were left unchanged at 7.98 million tonnes and 4 million tonnes, respectively, and 38.87 million tonnes and 15.8 million tonnes.
The USDA does not include data for Crimea and new territories in its forecasts.
The USDA raised its forecasts for the global harvest in the new season to 820.06 million tonnes of wheat, 1,594.49 million tonnes of feed grain and 1,300.38 million tonnes of corn, from the 819.06 million tonnes, 1,588.66 million tonnes and 1,295.38 million tonnes, respectively, projected in May.
