Armenia reports gas supplies from Russia at established tariff, receives no notifications of price revision - territorial administration and infrastructure minister

YEREVAN. June 11 (Interfax) - Gas supplies from Russia to Armenia continue as normal, and no notifications of price revision have been received, Armenian Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Minister David Khudatyan said.

"There is no new development regarding gas supplies and prices. We are working intensively and very well with our colleagues from Gazprom . There are no changes. We receive gas according to the current schedule and prices," Khudatyan told journalists on Thursday.

The tariff for gas received from Russia is fixed in an agreement that is valid until the end of 2026 and early 2027, he said.

When asked whether Russia could raise the price of gas for Armenia, Khudatyan replied: "Anything is possible in this world. I cannot say whether it is possible or not. But there is no official notification of a price revision."

"We are managing our risks, including those related to price increases. Allow me not to elaborate further," he said.

At the end of May, it was reported that Russian Energy Minister Sergei Tsivilev had sent a message to the Armenian Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Ministry stating that Russia could suspend or unilaterally denounce the agreement on the supply of natural gas, petroleum products and unprocessed diamonds to the country, signed in December 2013, if Yerevan continued with the process of joining the European Union.
