Russian maritime center to help create unified environment for maritime technologies development - Patrushev

ST. PETERSBURG. June 10 (Interfax) - Russia needs to create a new system for maritime technological and infrastructure for the country's development with regard for its spatial features, Russian presidential aide and Maritime Board head Nikolai Patrushev said.

"For these purposes, and also for the practical implementation of national maritime policies, it is proposed to create a Russian Maritime Center, which should become a consolidating element of a system ensuring a full cycle of maritime technologies development - from education and science to tests and production launch," Patrushev said at a meeting of the Maritime Board scientific-expert council held at the international naval show Fleet 2026 in Kronstadt.

The Maritime Center will help consolidate efforts for the practical achievement of the goals and tasks of the national maritime policies aimed at ensuring technological sovereignty and developing Russia's maritime potential in order to secure Russia's national interests, he said.
