Access to Roblox unblocked in Russia - ministry

MOSCOW. June 10 (Interfax) - Russian authorities have lifted restrictions on access to Roblox, an online game platform popular with children, as the company has taken measures to make sure that its operations fully comply with Russian law, the Digital Development Ministry said on Wednesday.

"Roblox has fully complied with Russian legislation on ensuring user safety. The online game service is again available on the entire territory of Russia," the ministry's press service said in a statement.

"The Digital Development Ministry previously held direct consultations with the platform's owners regarding the protection of underage game users," it said.

"The corporation has implemented a whole set of measures to improve the children's protection, including launching a mechanism to restrict access to games by age group. Roblox has also committed to counter the circulation of inappropriate content on the platform," the ministry said.

Roblox is an online gaming platform and a system for creating games that allows any user to create their own games and play games created by others. It was launched in the United States in 2006.
