Russia to continue large-scale modernization of infrastructure for children's recreation - Putin

MOSCOW. June 10 (Interfax) - Large-scale modernization and creation of infrastructure for children's recreation facilities in the country will continue, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

"Besides serious modernization of the current network, it is planned to launch more than 200,000 new places for children's recreation and wellness by 2030," Putin said at a meeting with the government on Wednesday.

Earlier, a total of 136 new children's recreation facilities was refurbished and 336 new facilities were built with budget funding, he said.

"We are talking about residential buildings, sports stadiums and gyms, spaces for creativity and educational initiatives, medical offices and canteens. This work has helped create 160,000 new places for recreation and interesting, useful leisure. Large-scale modernization of such infrastructure will continue," Putin said.
