MOSCOW. June 10 (Interfax) - The Kremlin is hoping that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is the longest-serving head of government in Indian history, will continue to contribute to the development of Russian-Indian relations, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
"Today, Prime Minister Modi has become the doyen (longest-serving) of Indian prime ministers," Peskov said at a press briefing.
India is a partner of Russia, bilateral trade and economic relations are developing in all areas, and "dialogue is also being conducted in the most sensitive fields," he said.
"We are hoping that Prime Minister Modi will continue to contribute to the further development of Russian-Indian relations," Peskov said.
With Modi in office, India has become a leading economic power in the world, "with the highest rates of economic growth and development" and advancing cutting-edge technologies, he said.
