Putin notes importance of coordinated efforts of state, businesses for developing tourism
MOSCOW. June 10 (Interfax) - The state, the business community and regional authorities need to coordinate their efforts to further develop tourism in Russia and raise its profitability, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in his greetings to the participants and guests of the 6th Let's Travel international tourist forum, which opens in Moscow on June 10.
"Traditionally, your meeting will enable leading domestic and international industry specialists, business representatives and experts to exchange experience and present new tourism destinations that showcase the culture and traditions of different countries, their rich and diverse nature, and their historical heritage. Of course, the forum is yet another excellent opportunity to reveal and demonstrate the vast potential of our regions in this sphere," the letter, published on the Kremlin website, said.
Putin called for making domestic travel in Russia affordable, comfortable and memorable.
"To achieve this, it is necessary to further improve tourism infrastructure, to competently and efficiently organize routes, and to make them engaging and user-friendly. Such work especially requires the coordination of efforts between the state, the business community, and regional authorities to make tourism a profitable sector of the economy generating additional revenue, helping create jobs, and contributing to the preservation of museums, architectural monuments, national parks, and nature reserves," he said.
The Let's Travel forum has been held at the VDNKh exhibition center in Moscow since 2021. Delegations from 75 regions of Russia and over 30 countries will take part in it this year. The forum includes a business program, a festival and an exhibition dedicated to travel in Russia.
