No precise date for Witkoff, Kushner's visit to Russia - Peskov
MOSCOW. June 9 (Interfax) - There is no precise date yet for U.S. Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff and businessman Jared Kushner's visit to Russia, but the Kremlin would be happy to welcome them at any time, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.
"There's no exact date yet for their visit. However, we would be happy to welcome them here in Russia at any time," Peskov told reporters when asked a corresponding question on Tuesday.
"The mediation process on the Ukraine track is on hold" at the moment, he said.
"At the same time, American negotiators are continuing contacts. Contacts are ongoing both with us through existing channels and with the Ukrainians," he said.
The United States has not yet informed Russia of the content of Witkoff and Kushner's recent conversation with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, he said.
"It [the conversation] just took place, so they haven't informed us yet. On the other hand, if there was anything substantive there, any novelties that need to be shared with us, then certainly, the American negotiators will do so very promptly," Peskov said in reply to a corresponding question.
The dialogue channels between Russia and the American negotiators are functioning, he said.
