KazMunayGas-Aero to refuel Armenian FlyOne flights in Almaty
ASTANA. June 9 (Interfax) - KazMunayGas-Aero LLP, a subsidiary of Kazakhstan's national oil and gas company KazMunayGas (KMG), has signed a contract with FlyOne Armenia to provide into-wing refueling services at Almaty International Airport, KMG's press service said.
FlyOne Armenia will begin operating regular flights between Yerevan and Almaty starting June 12, 2026, the company said.
KazMunayGas-Aero will provide a full range of aviation fuel services for flights at Almaty Airport.
FlyOne Armenia's entry into the Kazakh market indicates growing interest from international carriers in developing air service with Kazakhstan, KMG said. Kazakhstan maintains some of the lowest prices for aviation fuel in Central Asia, which contributes to an increase in transit, passenger and cargo flights through the country's airports.
KazMunayGas-Aero previously signed into-wing refueling contracts with Uzbekistan's Fly Khiva Cargo, Turkey's ULS Airlines Cargo, Georgia's CAMEX Airlines, and Cargolux. The company also has direct into-wing refueling agreements with several leading international carriers, including Turkish Airlines, Turkish Cargo, FlyDubai, Red Sea, Air Cairo, Somon Air, FlyMeta and Silk Way West Airlines.
At the beginning of 2026, Kazakhstan reduced the cost of into-plane aviation fuel from $1,200 to $940 per tonne to develop its aviation hubs, and further plans to reduce its price to $890 per tonne.
FlyOne Armenia is the largest airline in Armenia, part of the international FlyOne airline group, which also includes Uzbek Flyone Asia, FlyOne Moldova and FlyOne Romania.
