Pashinyan's party gains 49.81% of vote, 3 opposition parties win parliament seats - Armenian CEC, citing preliminary information
YEREVAN. June 8 (Interfax) - The Civil Contract party of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has gained 49.81% of the vote in parliament elections, the Armenian Central Elections Commission (CEC) said, citing preliminary information, with 100% of the votes counted.
Samvel Karapetyan's Strong Armenia party gained 23.29% of the vote, and the Armenia bloc of former Armenian President Robert Kocharyan ranked third with 9.94% of the vote, followed by Gagik Tsarukyan's Prosperous Armenia with 4%.
The election threshold is 4% for parties and 8% for blocs.
The opposition thus gets 37.23% of the vote in total.
The Armenian CEC will publish the final voting results later this week.
