Russian National Wealth Fund falls 257.92 bln rubles in May to 12.96 trln rubles - MinFin

MOSCOW. June 3 (Interfax) - The Russian National Wealth Fund (NWF) declined by 257.917 billion rubles in May after falling 200.602 billion rubles in April, 134.96 billion rubles in March and 90.5 billion rubles in February, according to data published on the Finance Ministry website.

The NWF grew 224.1 billion rubles in January 2026 and 156 billion rubles in December 2025.

The NWF amounted to 12.955 trillion rubles, equivalent to $182.411 billion, or 5.5% of GDP as of June 1. A month earlier, it was 13.412 trillion rubles, equivalent to $176.457 billion or 5.6% of GDP.

The NWF's liquid assets were the equivalent of 3.412 trillion rubles, or $48.046 billion, as of June 1, and 1.5% of forecast GDP for the year. They were 3.626 trillion rubles or $48.418 billion on May 1, 3.889 trillion rubles or $47.84 billion and 1.7% of GDP on April 1, 4.005 trillion rubles or $51.828 billion and 1.7% of GDP on March 1, 4.226 trillion rubles or $55.808 billion and 1.8% of GDP on February 1 and 4.085 trillion rubles or $52.22 billion and 1.9% of projected GDP on January 1.

NWF accounts held 145.18 tonnes of unallocated gold as of June 1, unchanged from a month earlier, compared with 145.348 tonnes on April 1, 147.197 tonnes on March 1, 155.094 tonnes on February 1 and 160.24 tonnes on January 1.

In May, a total of 3.509 billion rubles of NWF money was converted into 336.3 million yuan and yuan holdings rose to 185.547 billion yuan as of June 1, from 185.211 billion yuan on May 1 and April 1. They had fallen to 188.087 billion yuan on March 1, from 201.066 billion yuan on February 1 and 209.152 billion yuan on January 1.
