Investors not interested in purchasing two former DTEK mines in Rostov region
ROSTOV-ON-DON. June 3 (Interfax) - The sale of the two former mines of businessman Rinat Akhmetov's energy holding DTEK, JSC Obukhovskaya Mine Administration and JSC Donskoy Anthracite in the Rostov region, did not take place due to an absence of price offers.
According to a publication from electronic trading platform JSC New Information Systems (NIS), the call for offers was declared invalid due to the absence of applications.
As reported, JSC Obukhovskaya Mine Administration and JSC Donskoy Anthracite were put up for sale in May by Sberbank and JSC Best Solution, which acquired the mines in 2024.
One of the lots to be sold was 100% of shares in the companies owned by Best Solution, promissory notes and Sberbank's receivables from loans to the companies, with the price of assets to be determined at the end of the auctions.
In June 2012, DTEK purchased a 100% stake in both Obukhovskaya and Donskoy Anthracite and 66.7% in Sulinantratsit LLC from Rostov Anthracite LLC. Sulinantratsit LLC was later merged with Donskoy Anthracite. In August 2021, the Russian Federal Anti-Monopoly Service (FAS) approved the request of Cypriot Valleyton Investments Ltd. to purchase the controlling share in DTEK's Russian assets.
In June 2024, JSC Best Solution acquired 100% of shares in JSC Donskoy Anthracite and JSC Obukhovskaya Mine Administration from Fabcell Ltd. of Cyprus. In its financial accounts for 2024, Best Solution reported plans to sell the assets, "purchased using borrowed funds". For example, it planned to sell JSC Obukhovskaya Mine Administration and JSC Donskoy Anthracite by the end of 2026.
JSC Obukhovskaya Mine Administration saw net profit to Russian Accounting Standards (RAS) drop significantly in 2025, decreasing 96.1% to 86.8 million rubles. Its revenue fell 27.6% to 6.1 billion rubles.
JSC Donskoy Anthracite had a net profit of 559.4 million rubles in 2025, versus a net loss of 1.4 billion rubles in 2024. Revenue halved to 949 million rubles.
