Azerbaijan, U.S. discuss investment opportunities in transport, logistics, digital infrastructure
BAKU. June 3 (Interfax) - Azerbaijan and the United States have signed a number of documents on creating digital infrastructure, technology transfer and implementing efficient industrial solutions as part of the first meeting of the Azerbaijan-U.S. economic dialogue in Baku.
"The first session discussed the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP), the Middle Corridor, expanding regional logistics opportunities, Azerbaijan's favorable business environment for investors, as well as new opportunities created for U.S. companies by the country's growing ties with Europe and Central Asia," the Azerbaijani Economy Ministry said.
Panel sessions were held on the topics of regional connectivity, trade and transit, and energy security, the ministry said. They discussed, among other things, opportunities for cooperation in developing the Southern Gas Corridor, power grid connections and increasing energy production.
"During discussions on artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure, cooperation in creating data centers, implementing artificial intelligence technologies, and developing regulatory frameworks and future partnerships were considered," the ministry said.
The meeting took place as part of Baku Energy Week. The co-chairs of the dialogue are Azerbaijani Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov and U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Economic and Business Affairs Caleb Orr. Representatives of the countries' government agencies, international financial institutions and the private sector participated in the dialogue.
