Annual inflation in Kazakhstan slows to 10.4% in May, as forecast

ALMATY. June 1 (Interfax-) - Kazakhstan's annual inflation eased to 10.4% in May from 10.6% in April, while consumer prices rose 0.7% month-on-month, the National Statistics Bureau said Monday.

This fell within the 10.2%-10.6% range that analysts forecast for Interfax.

Food prices rose 10.7% year-on-year, down from 11.3% in April. Non-food inflation held steady at 11.7%, while the annual increase in service charges slowed to 8.7% from 8.9%.

Annual inflation stood at 12.2% in January, 11.7% in February and 11% in March.

Kazakhstan had 12.3% inflation in 2025 and 8.6% in 2024.
