Russia will export 60 mln tonnes of grain in 2025/2026 marketing year, including 50 mln tonnes of wheat - Lut
MOSCOW. May 29 (Interfax) - Russia will export 60 million tonnes of grain in the 2025/2026 marketing year, including 50 million tonnes of wheat, Russian Agriculture Minister Oksana Lut said at a final board meeting of the ministry on Friday.
These figures are higher than previous forecasts of 54-55 million tonnes of grain, including 43-44 million tonnes of wheat.
The export potential of the current agricultural year is ensured by the grain harvest in 2025, which became the third largest in the country's history at 144.6 million tonnes, including 93.8 million tonnes of the key crop, wheat, Lut said. This significantly exceeds domestic needs, she said.
Overall, exports of Russian agricultural products amount to approximately $16 billion since the beginning of the year, up 22.5% compared to a year earlier, Lut said.
At the same time, Russia holds a leading position in the global market not only in wheat exports, but also in frozen fish, sunflower oil, buckwheat and other types of products, she said. "One of the important results of 2025 is a significant increase in the supply of high-value-added products. Today, they account for almost half of all products supplied," she said.
In addition, for a number of countries, Russia is a supplier not only of food, but also of ready-made solutions for improving the efficiency of agriculture. "Exports of domestic agricultural technologies increased by about a third last year and exceeded $16 billion. This primarily concerns mineral fertilizers, in which we maintain global leadership in terms of supplies. Last year, exports of them increased 30%. Supplies of plant protection products grew by a quarter. And our seeds, genetic materials, breeding stock and vaccines are increasingly in demand on the global market," she said.
The minister named high-tech products (lysine, modified starches, and others) as a promising export segment. Their supplies grew by almost a quarter last year and exceeded $300 million.
