Russian Digital Ministry department head Karetskaya promoted to deputy minister - decree
MOSCOW. May 28 (Interfax) - Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has signed an order to appoint Svetlana Karetskaya to the position of deputy digital development, communications and mass media minister.
In her new position, Karetskaya will oversee finance and human resources policy and work on supporting and implementing the Data Economy national project, the ministry said in a statement on its website.
Karetskaya has worked at the Digital Development Ministry for more than six years. She became head of the ministry's economic and finance department in August 2020. She oversaw the cost allocation and expenditure execution of the Digital Economy national program and Data Economy national project. She has also served as chairman of the ministry's Youth Council since November 2025.
Prior to joining the ministry, Karetskaya held various positions in commercial organizations, as well as the Bank of Russia and the Russian government's analytics center. She served as director of the project economics department at RT Labs, the subsidiary of state telecom company Rostelecom that is developing the Gususlugi public services website.
