Russian Deputy Digital Minister Kuchushev resigns - decree
MOSCOW. May 28 (Interfax) - Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has signed an order dismissing Deputy Digital Development Minister Sergei Kuchushev from this position at his own request.
Kuchushev will continue to work in the sector and will serve as an advisor to the minister on issues concerning taxation in the information technology sector, the ministry said.
Kuchushev served as digital development minister from December 2023 and was in charge of drafting government policy on the development of IT and measures to support Russian IT companies, training of skilled workers for the sector and implementation of digital transformation projects at companies.
"In these two and a half years we managed to do a great deal for the sector: preserve and expand preferences for Russian IT companies and professionals, achieve import substitution of software used in key sectors of the economy, and continue to develop a springboard for training workers for the sector," Kuchushev was quoted as saying in the ministry press release.
Prior to joining the Digital Development Ministry, Kuchushev served as director of government relations at the Vostok Investment Fund for three years. Prior to that, he held various positions at IT and telecom companies, including 13 years spent at technology group Yandex , where he progressed from legal advisor to acting director of legal affairs, and at marketplace Ozon , where he was also director of government relations.
