Energy among key issues to be discussed during Putin's Kazakhstan visit - Ushakov

MOSCOW. May 26 (Interfax) - Energy will be among the key issues discussed during Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to Kazakhstan on May 27-29, his aide Yury Ushakov said on Tuesday.

"Of course, energy issues will be discussed, undoubtedly. Energy is one of the key issues that are going to be discussed. It is the area where our countries have been cooperating most actively," Ushakov told journalists when asked whether the two presidents would be discussing plans to increase the transit of Russian oil via Kazakhstan.

"All this will be discussed. I wouldn't express any concern. I can say that the forecasts we have been making are fairly optimistic," he said when asked about prospects of increasing the transit.
