Gazprom Neft begins full-scale oil production at Chona group in Eastern Siberia, capacity at 2 mln tonnes per year

MOSCOW. April 22 (Interfax) - Gazprom Group has begun full-scale oil production at the Chona group of fields in Eastern Siberia, the concern said.

The development of the Chona group, which includes the Ignyalinsky, Tympuchikansky and Vakunaisky license areas, is carried out by PJSC Gazprom Neft .

The production complex put into operation includes over 150 units of infrastructure. The largest of these are an oil treatment unit, an oil pipeline and a delivery-acceptance point (DAP), and two power plants for its own needs. The treated oil enters the DAP and is then directed into the Eastern Siberia - Pacific Ocean (ESPO) pipeline system. After the complex reaches full capacity, up to 2 million tonnes of oil per year will be supplied to the ESPO.

The geological oil reserves of the Chona group of fields exceed 1.3 billion tonnes.

The name of the Chona group of fields is associated with the Chona river, the basin of which covers the territories of the Ignyalinsky, Tympuchikansky and Vakunaisky license areas.
