Price of Russian gas supplied to Armenia can't be raised - Pashinyan
YEREVAN. May 22 (Interfax) - The price of Russian gas supplied to Armenia cannot be raised, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said.
"Armenia and Russia have a valid agreement, and this agreement is mutually beneficial. The agreement has terms. We reached clear strategic understandings on the gas price, and they have to be honored," Pashinyan said at a press briefing in response to a question about whether the gas price might go up.
Gazprom is the only supplier of gas to Armenia. Gazprom Armenia, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Russian company, operates the gas transmission system.
Gas is supplied in transit through Georgian territory, and the border price of Russian gas is $165 per 1,000 cubic meters.
