AzerGold and Eswatini agree on cooperation in mining sector
BAKU. May 21 (Interfax) - AzerGold and the Kingdom of Eswatini's Ministry of Natural Resources and Energy have agreed on cooperation in the mining sector, the Azerbaijani state-owned gold producer said in a statement.
AzerGold CJSC Chairman of the Board Zakir Ibrahimov on behalf of Azerbaijan and Prince Lonkhokhela, Minister of Natural Resources and Energy of Eswatini, signed a memorandum on cooperation on May 20.
"The memorandum covers a wide range of areas of cooperation, including mining industry development, geological exploration, technical collaboration, and investment initiatives, creating new opportunities for both countries," AzerGold said.
The parties will cooperate in the exchange of geological, commercial, and regulatory information, geological exploration activities, laboratory testing, mineral resource assessment, and feasibility studies.
"In addition, the parties will explore potential joint projects, investment models, and service agreements as part of the partnership framework. The memorandum also envisages the creation of joint working groups, reciprocal field visits and the organization of conferences, seminars, and other joint events," AzerGold said.
The memorandum is expected to develop a long-term partnership between the countries in the mining sector.
AzerGold CJSC was established by a presidential decree dated February 11, 2015. It prospects, explores, develops and operates the Chovdar, Aghyokhush, Marah and Tulallar gold deposits, Fizilchay polymetallic ore deposit, Mazymchay deposit, Kurakchay and Goydagh areas, Dagkesemen gold area and Dashkesan group of iron ore fields.
