Ukraine mentioned at Putin-Xi talks - Kremlin spokesman

MOSCOW. May 21 (Interfax) - China is ready to help launch a peaceful settlement of the Ukraine conflict, and the issue has been mentioned at recent talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"The topic of Ukraine has indeed been mentioned. Indeed, China is ready to make efforts to help move towards a peaceful settlement path. We are grateful to our Chinese friends for that," Peskov said at a press briefing on Thursday.

As to whether China's Ukraine peace plan, talked about in 2023, was discussed at the negotiations and whether China put forward any new initiatives, Peskov said, "That plan was not discussed."
