Kazakhstan, Kenya to cooperate on AI, digitization, space technologies
ASTANA. May 21 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan and Kenya have agreed to share experience in artificial intelligence (AI), information and space technologies, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said.
Kenya is widely known as the Silicon Savannah of Africa, he said, pointing out the importance of the cooperation on AI and digitization.
"With its in-depth competence in GovTech and FinTech, Kazakhstan is ready to share its best practices in the area of solutions for e-government and modern banking infrastructure. We are also keen on AI and space cooperation," Tokayev was quoted by his press service as saying at a Kazakhstan-Kenya Business Forum on Wednesday.
The memoranda signed today in the field of IT and space technologies will pave way for a productive, long-term partnership between the two countries, he said.
Tokayev also welcomed the strengthening of the relations between the Astana International Financial Center (AIFC) and the Nairobi International Financial Center.
He invited Kenyan companies to actively use the AIFC's capabilities to expand their business presence in Central Asia and beyond.
Later, the two countries' presidents visited the Alem.ai international AI center where they familiarized themselves with its potential as the country's key technological hub.
The presidents were shown the Astana Smart City system with its capabilities in video analytics, public safety, transport operation and coordination of city services in online mode.
